Multi-Sport Facility Update #7, January Information Report from the Flood Remediation Supervisor
Collaborative Community Child Care Planning and Needs Assessment Grant Application Recommended Motion: THAT Council support the collaborative application to the Union of B.C. Municipalities for a Child Care Planning and Needs Assessment Grant of $100,000 partnered with the District of Peachland, District of Lake Country and the City of Kelowna with the City of Kelowna being the primary applicant to apply for, receive and manage the grant funding; AND THAT Council authorize the Mayor to provide a letter of support, including the resolution of Council, to be included in the application due January 18, 2019.
Rogers Home Town Hockey Event Recommended Motion: THAT Council waive the requirement for a Temporary Use Permit for Lot A, Plan EPP66703 (1661 Westgate Road) and Lot 150, Plan KAP5381, District Lot 507 (1655 Westgate Road) for the purpose of providing off-premise parking for the one-time event “Rogers Hometown Hockey” held at 2760 Cameron Road (Royal LePage Place).
Investing in Canada Program’s Community, Culture and Recreation Sub-stream Recommended Motion: THAT the City of West Kelowna apply to the Investing in Canada Program’s Community, Culture and Recreation Sub-stream requesting the maximum funding contribution of 73.33% of eligible costs to renovate and expand Johnson Bentley Memorial Aquatic Centre; and, THAT the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to execute the contribution agreement in the event of a successful application; and, THAT Council establish the timeline for project construction, prior to the March 31, 2024 completion deadline required under the grant program and amend the 2019 to 2028 Capital Plan to account for the City of West Kelowna’s share of funding in the event of a successful application.
